A Guiding Hand Through Your Medicare Journey

Welcome. As you embark on the path to understanding Medicare, you might be wondering about the voice guiding you through these pages. My journey into the world of Medicare wasn't just a professional pursuit; it became deeply personal when I found myself navigating its complexities at age 65. My years in the financial services provided me an advantage in accessing the resources I needed to make (hopefully) the right choices.

For many years prior, my career in Financial Services had already underscored a crucial truth: making timely, informed decisions about foundational pillars like Social Security and Medicare is important to long-term peace of mind. That personal encounter with Medicare, however, ignited a passion to delve even deeper, to research exhaustively, and to simplify what can often feel like an overwhelming landscape for others.

I've been dedicated to this field since 1984, bringing over four decades of experience to the table. My lengthy career began as a personal financial advisor. It evolved into a series of management positions in training, marketing and recruiting. Over the years my great joy was maintaining a personal connection to my clients, whether doing special needs planning for families or assisting small business owners with their business continuation plan. It's now a privilege to help individuals prepare for and transition smoothly into this next chapter of their healthcare planning journey.

Beyond my professional life, my roots are in Central Massachusetts, a community I remain connected to, partly through my support for vital local organizations like Open Sky Community Services and Safe Homes. When I'm not immersed in the intricacies of healthcare planning, you might find me pursuing my love for gardening and landscaping or enjoying the tranquility of a fire while participating in the fellowship of camping with a travel trailer.

My hope is that the insights and information within this book will empower you, just as I sought to empower myself all those years ago. Navigating Medicare doesn't have to be a solo venture, and I'm honored to share my knowledge and experience to
